well, i hear ya. at this point, im sort of scared to take another one. but really, when you think about it, if it takes 2-3 days to go from 12 (my beta with my first hpt+) to 24, then the next day, even if everything is great, the beta is probably 15 or 16, maybe 17 or something like that. so how much difference is going to show up on a 27 cent ic, or even an frer for that matter, between 12 and 17? or even higher numbers, because you drank a little more or less water before the test, or the time of day, or the mix of chemicals in the hpt factory any given day, you know? we can, and probably will, drive ourselves batty.

Yes! Exactly. And we should trust our bodies and how we feel over some super cheap, somewhat inconsistent diagnostic tool. Also, I just spent some time looking at test progressions online, and there are SO many--especially with ICs--that seem to take days and days to get any darker.
