screaming at 2am every night

DD is 22 months old and has been completely night weaned for 7 months. She was a decent sleeper (for the most part) up until last month. Then she developed this bizarre attachment to her cup. She has to fall asleep clutching it (she has a death grip on it) and wakes up between 2-3am asking for it and I have to hand it to her, even if it's in her hands still. Fine, whatever. I can deal with that.

The last 3 nights though she's been waking up at the same time, refusing her water and just flipping out for anywhere from 30-90 minutes. Complete and total meltdowns. Nothing I can do calms her down, she screams so loud she wakes DH up through 2 doors and a hallway and everyone here is a mess. I thought it might be night terrors, but she'll answers questions. Do you want your cup? NO!!!! and throws it at me. Do you want a hug? NO!!! and flings herself off the bed, etc.

I have no idea what to do. Once she finally calms downs he keeps saying mamma over and over and won't fall asleep unless I let her stick her arm around my neck or lay on me. She naps great, wakes up happy, but I'm miserable. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and exhausted all the time and this si not helping. Would moving her into her own bed (she sleeps there occasionally) help?

is she getting her 2 year molars?

Reading your post I thought she was in her own bed, and I was going to suggest you or dh sleep with her. You could try moving her to her own bed, but I would think that might disrupt things even further.

I think the teeth is a good idea; you could try teething tablets or an icy teether or frozen wet washcloth.

It could also be part of her processing your pregnancy. I remember spending a fair amount of time in dd's bed at night when I was pregnant with ds.

Sorry I don't have any better help for you.

I don't think so. She still doesn't have all her regular teeth. She was a really late teether (first tooth around a year) so I'm not expecting the 2 year molars until she's almost 3.
