So, umm. What CAN we eat exactly? ;-D

Kinda a tongue in cheek question, but still! Ok mamas, here's the deal. I have to go dairy free for my newborn (severe reflux) so DH and I decided the entire family can do the same. That's actually not a difficult task, I've done that before for one of my other kiddos for the same reason. With possible allergy issues we'd also rather not lean heavily on soy products, although we aren't eliminating them entirely right now.

DH (the KING of crappy food diet) has ALSO recently decided he'd like to discard processed carbs from his diet as well, in favor of whole foods and occasionally whole grains. I am THRILLED, and have no problem with this. I just got home from a week long inpatient stay with our newborn so my head isn't exactly clear, but I'd like to take him up on his 'genius idea' before he changes his mind.

So we absolutely cannot have dairy. We'd like to eliminate processed sugars (sucrose/fructose/dextrose/refined sugars etc), as well as MSG from our diet completely. What are some meal ideas that we *can* have, that are convenient and fairly simple to make? Pretty much the basic 'meat, brown rice, and veggies' is fine but at some point that gets old.

The reason I'm asking is that DH is feeling overwhelmed now that we *have* to cut the dairy on top of his 'brand new' idea about food. Yeah, I realize this is actually a really healthy way to eat but HE thinks he just discovered it, so we're letting him go with that shall we?

So let me have some meal ideas!

indian curry with rice
thai curry with rice (they're very different and both delicious and very easy if you buy pre-made curry powder or pre-made curry paste)
hamburgers on whole wheat bread or buns
meatloaf and coleslaw
stir fry and rice
cold veggie, meat, grain, or legume salad (like egg salad, chicken salad, eggplant and chickpea salad, tabouleh, lentil salad etc)
beans and rice (with or without meat)
grilled corn and fish or meat
sandwhiches with meat, or fish or veggies
gazpacho
chili and cornbread
all sorts of creamy pureed soups (soups often get creamy just by purreeing. if you want it creamier, add potato, or coconut milk.)
roast chicken and veggies and gravy

eggs for breakfast, or cereal with coconut milk, or almond milk, or bacon, or leftovers, or soup
