I find the whole approach so amazing, the p/n testing and such...has anyone received this kind of treatment? I don't have one nearby, so we can't. Just curious.

p/n = provocation/neutralization??

It's been a few years since I read her book, so I don't remember the type of allergist either.

I think they a called environmental allergists. The p/n testing and treatment is very intriguing, but I've never heard it mentioned anywhere else!

Hmm. Well. My allergist is an ex-paediatrician who is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and past president of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine. So does that make him an environmental allergist? I have never done p/n testing nor treatment although we did discuss it, now that I've looked it up. He said he generally uses it in more severe cases but that our case (since it was mild- only 1 "true" allergy and 2 intolerances) could be handled by our ND.
(and all of this is why I keep telling CS she needs to go and see him or at least phone his office for a recommendation )

eta: And in case she changes her mind or someone else would like to see him, this is the place out of which he works out. It's on the southern Oregon coast.

eta: He's also the doctor who got me to look at no-vax more seriously since he told me that it could be the cause of autoimmune issues.

I went to an environmental doctor, but he didn't do the provacation/neutralization technique. Unfortunately I looked at a bunch of research that debunked that part of the book (not that that means anything since there are people who don't believe in crystal testing and muscle testing either) but I focused more on the rest of the book.

JR, Is it Morgan you see at that clinic? He sounds awesome. Oh how I wish we were on the West Coast! You guys have so much more progressive stuff out there!

Yes, it is Dr. Morgan. I seriously him!
Not all of our doctors are so progressive... trust me! He originally got involved in allergy work because of his research into homeopathy. He figured if someone can react to a microscopic amount of food, perhaps there IS something to homeopathy after all.

I asked our mainstream allergist about PN testing years ago and he looked at me like I had two heads. I called the one environmental allergist in the whole phone book and they told they had never heard of it, either.
