Funny story about toddler and morning sickness

Finally something about morning sickness that made me laugh and I thought I'd share... So I've been dreadfully sick this pregnancy. I'm almost 32 weeks now and still nauseous every day. Thankfully I'm not actually vomitting anymore but the sound of dry heaving is still quite common at our place.

So my DS is 20 mos old and obsessed with learning his animal noises. ("What sound does a cow make? Moooo..." that sort of thing.) The other day, I was dry heaving in the bathroom and DS started imitating me! DH laughed his head off so of course that got DS really going and now DH loves to ask, after going through the cow/donkey/duck etc, "What sound does Mummy make?" and DS responds with a hearty "Blech, blech" wretching noise.

OMgoodness, not the proudest time of my life! But it sure cracks me up and makes me feel better!

Oh man... Go you for being able to laugh about that. I'm not sure I could treat that with good humor. I'm kind of cranky while pregnant.

That's awesome!

My DS has gotten so blase about my vomiting that he just stands and chats with me the whole time--giving a running comentary.

I'm 12 weeks and even though I'm taking zofran, I'm still vomiting at least once a day. I try hard to throw up away from 20 month old DD but when I'm home alone with her, she always follows me into the bathroom. I try not to look too unhappy or awful but hey, vomiting is vomiting.

So DD has taken to coming over to the toilet, standing next to me, and doing her best to come up with a tiny bit of saliva that she can spit in the toilet too! I always smile and make fake spitting sounds with her, we both smile/laugh, and it totally takes the edge off the awful wretching.

Earlier in my pregnancy I was SO TIRED that I would take a nap on the couch while dd was watching a movie. One day DD wanted to watch a movie so she said "momma you not feel good. You need to lay on the couch while I watch a movie." She is 3.
