How much eye contact does/ did your <6 to 12-month-old make with you?

DD is a total observer. Loves making eye contact and holds it for ages a lot of the time.

Mine's 5.5 months old but I answered anyway, oops, I hope that was ok! I didn't realise!

DS frequently makes eye contact. How long he maintains it depends on what he's doing. If he's buzy he glances at me (and often smiles) then goes back to whatever, if he's feeling more social he would look at me for a while. While nursing he usually glances up at me. My favorite moments are when he takes a few sips, unlatches, looks up at me and smiles, then relatches. It just makes me melt.

ds stares so much it's uncomfortable, especially at strangers. I've had to apologize to people at restaurants.

lol, Plarka, no big. It's very interesting regardless of age- I mainly only specified bc some babies are goofy before 3 months or so.

I do have a reason for posting this- DD has been making less eye contact over the past few months, was never super great about prolonged eye contact, and has never, ever made eye contact while nursing (unless the ceiling fans secretly have eyes, in which case she makes GREAT eye contact with them!)

We do plan on bringing a few issues up next month at her well-baby, but I was sorta curious how other babies are.

Ooops, I voted without looking at the age range...my 4 month old makes eye contact for extended periods of time, and always has. She's a very observant and alert kiddo!
