Basic Fall Wardrobe for a 4yo Girl?

What does your basic fall/winter wardrobe look like for your 4 yo?

I'm starting to put together my DD1's fall wardrobe and wondering what the bare-bones minimum is for other parents. DD1 does not attend school and thanks to the Grandmas is always set for Church clothes

TIA!

My 4yo DD is notoriously difficult when it comes to clothing. She will only wear short-sleeved or sleeveless dresses all year round (or skirts), so we stock up on long sleeve t-shirts. We also buy a bundle of tights (the thick cotton ones) and leggings. At least five pairs of tights. We buy the warmest pair of winter boots we can afford. We always get the girls a 3-in-1 jacket, since DD does not like the bulk of the full jacket, she can wear the liner in the car and put the shell over it when she's outside. Essentially, we just dress her for fall and put a dress or skirt over it We can occasionally get her to wear a cardigan, so we usually have one or two of those on hand for layering. Luckily, despite being skinny as a stick, DD2 does not often get cold. I guess that comes from being born in Montana mid-winter LOL.

So I guess my absolute basics would be 5 long-sleeved shirts, 5 pairs of tights, 5 pairs of leggings, whatever summer dresses she's still attached to, a pair of boots, a 3-in-1 coat, and a sweater-cardigan or two if we can find them on sale or at the thrift store (since there's no guarantee she'll wear them!) We also keep her spring jacket on hand in case she needs another layer under her coat. I could probably get by with a little less if DD didn't insist on wearing absolutely spotless clothes, so she changes too often.

I guess it all depends on where you're living (I forgot to look). Here in Colorado, there's precious little difference between fall and winter. Also, the snow is so dry it doesn't wet you to the bone and can just be brushed off. So staying dry isn't a problem, just staying warm. We're moving to Maine in three weeks, so we'll see how our wardrobe changes when we're confronted with wet AND cold LOL!

ETA: I would have added pajamas, but both DDs refuse to wear anything but undies at night. If I had normal children, I'd get pajamas too! Probably the fleece footed one-pieces.

My DD is another who only wears dresses. So her fall wardrobe is dresses and tights. She does have a few pairs of jeans and long sleeve t-shirts that she will wear super rarely. She's got a pair of sneakers and a pair of mary jane type shoes as well.

lol, i can hardly get my dd to wear dresses outside of church. i shop the mega clearance stuff the year before, so she usually ends up with more than she needs. the main staple of her wardrobe are jeans and long sleeve t-shirts. she does have a few nicer sweaters, and some sweatshirts as well. we're in NH (so wet and cold), so we end up getting a play jacket and a nicer jacket, as well as 2 pairs of snowpants, and a pair of snowboots fo rplaying and then just plain warm boots/shoes that are mainly for going to and from the car so her feet aredry while we're out and about. oh, and of course half a million hats/mittens since they seem to be stolen by the same gremblim who eats socks, lol. we usually kep out a handful of her t-shirts from summer for the not as cold days or to layer. and then heavy tights to go under her dresses. she deosn't tolerate footie pjs, plus she's so tall that she outgrows them way too fast, so we get her 2 piece fleece pjs and she wears socks with them. sometimes she opts for fleece nighties as well. which reminds me...i need to start going thru the kid's clothes and see where they're at for this year

For Fall, 5-7 pairs of snug-fitting pants/leggings with matching long knit shirts, 1 pair of jeans, 1 play coat, 1 wool coat, 1 new pair shoes.

DD was 4 last fall. We had two pair of sweatpants, two crew neck sweatshirts (for playgrounds) a hooded sweatshirt, a pair of jeans, two casual dresses, two fleece pullover tops, several knit pants (leftover from previous spring) and several long sleeve knit shirts (again carried over from previous season).

We don't usually get hand me downs from anyone so we're pretty minimalistic when it comes to clothes.

For MN, where fall can be be lovely and 2-3 months long or a few fleeting days before snow falls, and stays until spring.

5 pants (knit, dd won't wear jeans, twill, or corduroy)
5 l/s tees
3 s/s tees
3 sweaters
5 pjs
10 socks
10 undies
1 snow boot
1 parka
1 snowpant
1 fleece jacket
1 "nice" boot

I LOVE shopping for DD. I need to be very careful. Before her, I hated shopping. Dd wears only dresses, too and we live in Nova Scotia. She has finally started to be willing to wear the sparkliest pants we can find. She's a climber/tomboy physically, so like other pp, it can be a challenge.

We really like long-sleeved jersey dresses from Land's End. I've just discovered their online overstocks and even here in Canada, I can get them for $9.99. Lots of skirts with thick, footless leggings. Fleecies.

One thing I insist on is an excellent snowsuit. We have always bought Columbia and I will again this year. I search for them on sale and try to get them in February/March for the next year, but they're still expensive. But dd spends hours a day outside in the winter and I want her to be comfy and warm. The Columbia ones are nice and light. I remember feeling weighed down by snowpants as a kid and I don't want her to feel that way. I make room in our budget by shopping clearance/second hand for everything else. Oh, and great boots, too.
