WWYD sick spouse question

If your spouse were ill, without a clear diagnosis, but such that it is likely that he'd be able to go back to his current job within a few weeks, would you start searching for a job?

I've got so many personal variables, but it boils down to: he's sick, we don't know exactly what it is, but he'll probably be back to work soon. His job is not in jepordy. It is not life threatening, but it significantly limits what he can do when it's active. I currently stay at home with three kids, homeschooling. I'm a certified teacher with a current license, but there are no teaching jobs right now in my area.

Do I ride this out? Or should I be job searching?

Opinions?

Well in our situation I would have to get a job till he went back because if not we could loose the house since he wouldnt get paid for it (he already used up his sick and vacation time) then once he was back to work I would quit again.

I dont have a field really my background is sewing factory work and I can get a job there any time I want because of my experience so it would be easy for me to go back to work. Or I could even just run a cash register somewhere.

It would take more than a few weeks to find a job, start it, and get your first paycheck, esp if you wanted a job in your field.

Would signing up to be a sub for this school year be workable and helpful for your family?

It would take me a few months to find a job in my field...application and interview process, training...
No, I wouldn't bother if my spouse could go back in a few weeks and his job wasn't in jeopardy.
