Where can I get wetable reuseable pads for a Swiffer?

Ok. I admit I love my Swiffer. I love the lightness and the way it swivels so it will go under furniture. Of course I *don't* love buying refills and I never do.

I have some microfibre heads/pads for it that I got at the dollar store. Great! They work really well dry, especially when I remember to wash them.

I would, however, like to find a reuseable alternative to the wet cloths. If I wet the microfibre pads they just stick to the hardwood floor like crazy. I want something I can use damp.

Also my swiffer is quite old so the grippy things are kinda shot so just putting a cloth doesn't work (it falls out). I tried with a pair of old underpants, LOL.

Or should i get crafty and sew some? Any suggestions as to the best fabric for this?

I used pre-folds with my mom's swiffer... I see that the grippy things don't work, though. Could you duct tape each edge on? Or perhaps hem each end of the pre-fold over, and then string something like a shoelace through the hem on each side, and tie it secure?

Mmmm. Prefolds are a good idea. I will see if I have any spare.

Do you think fleece would work? Maybe better for dry.

My mom had hardwood floors and the pre-folds worked really well and gave it a nice shiny dry, but they were also my only option so I never considered fleece.

I use terry washcloths on my Swiffer. They actually used to be baby wipes-- I think they're Kissaluvs wipes.

If the grippy things are shot, though, what about attaching elastics to some cloths, so that the elastic would hold them on?

I just use a microfiber cloth on the bottom of my swiffer wetjet , and I use binder clips to hold the cloth to itself on top! Works wonderful!

I would say flannel, with velcro tabs that attach on top. How can I explain it better? Hmm.....4 tabs where the grippy things normally are.....so they "hook" to each other snug onto the swiffer thingy.

Does that make any sense?! Lol!

Thanks for all your suggestions!

I have some fleece and some flannel - I will try both. I'm thinking maybe the fleece will be nice for dry and flannel for wet.
