If it were my kids, I'd just be very clear with them about what would be happening at the viewing and also let them kow they had the choice to not go, to go but not see the body, to leave if they felt uncomfortable, etc. I remember thinking the whole viewing thing was weird when my grandfather died, but I wasn't freaked out by it - just sad that my grandpa was gone. I was older than your dd though - I was 10.
