Does your LO respond to his/her name?

My little guy is 5.5 months and we're working on him learning his name. Sometimes he'll turn his head when I say his name but I'm not sure if he's doing it because he 'heard' his name or he just heard my voice.

Nope, not yet, but then again, she's only 4 months old. Probably doesn't help that I call her six hundred thousand nicknames, too.

Mine is also 5.5 months old and sometimes responds to it and sometimes doesn't. As far as I know, it's normal at this age to not respond every time (or even 10% of the time.)

I'm pretty sure the developmental milestones say "over 6 months" so I think you're right, it's not expected at that age.

DD is 5 months and she does not. I think DS consistently looked when we called his name at 10 months. Now, at 2, he is ignoring us frequently when we call his name.

I think that's considered part of the 'terrible two's'.

DD is 7.5 mos and is starting to respond to her name consistently.

Same as the PP, DS is just over 7 months and is getting more consistent in responding to his name.

My DD just turned 6 months and she has started responding to her name.

Yep, she does. I say her name A LOT though. She's been responding to it consistently since probably 6ish months old or so.
