Disposable diaper sizing question...

Thread Starter
I'm planning on using disposable diapers for the first few weeks this time around, but I am a little confused on sizing! I bought a big box of seventh generation size 1 diapers from amazon, but now I'm seeing they have a newborn size too? Would the size 1s work for an average sized newborn? FWIW, my other kids have ranged from 7lbs8oz, 8lb10oz, 7lb10oz, and 8lb10oz. Looking at the size one diapers they look tiny, but I know everything looks tiny until the baby arrives and then just the baby looks tiny.

Help?

Moving to Diapering.

I think you'll be fine. My ODS was 9lbs 10oz and my YDS was 8lbs 14oz. I used the NB size on them for a couple of weeks before I moved to size 1. The comparison is very, very little.

one of the bigger differences - in some brands - is a little cut-out for the umbilical cord stub. no big deal to work around though, just fold down the top edge.

You should be fine with size one. We used NB for nearly 6 weeks, but that was because we had bought entirely too many and were trying to make them stretch!
