Yeah I guess there are alot of diapers for around $18, just with shipping and inserts and things it comes to almost $30. But from what a lot of you have said seems to be much less than disposables. I haven't really kept track at all at what I've spent on disposables. Cloth just seems more expensive at first since you have to spend so much all at once.

Don't ever pay for shipping on cloth diapers There are too many retailers out there with free shipping.

My total spending in cloth diapers, not including laundry is $250 mostly 4 years ago for two children. I love unbleached indian prefold, some wool covers and snappies. Then we discover EC, so the second baby just used the prefolds and with new snappies. We receive also some used fitted that we use in winter time for easy change out of the house with undress totally.
Thanks to prefold EC was really more easier than we though, and they were out of diaper around 18 mo, so less laundry.
I really don't know how much money we save between cloth diaper and EC,but at least $3000 for the two kids.

You are looking at expensive diapers in my opinion.

I got one-size fitteds from Motherease plus covers that are enough for me, and that was $230 for my whole stash. For my first, it was a few covers and Chinese Pre-Folds, for a grand total of $80 or so (which I passed down to another needy family).

I'm always shocked at the price of diapers when I go to the supermarket.
