It's too fake and staged for me. Did you see that episode where the bride destroyed her cake the second he walked out the door? yeah, there just happened to be all those tubes of frosting just laying there and she really took them and destroyed the cake he made just because it didn't match what she was looking for. No one would really do that.

Same think with DC Cakes - totally fake and staged with terrible acting.

The only ones that aren't are Cupcake Wars and Ace of Cakes.

I enjoy it. Mainly because I could NEVER make anything like those cakes. I am in awe of the decorators!

My DH's cousin went to Hoboken to go to Carlo's and she met Buddy's Mom. She was like, "what? you want to meet Buddy? Buddy, get down here!!" And he came down and chatted with her and her friends. He seems like a sweet guy.

Yeah, it's too staged for me to really like. I quit watching it, but the kids like seeing the awesome cakes. I do have to say that I don't think Mary is acting - she must be that annoying IRL! Can't stand her!

We used to live in Jersey City and shop on Washington in Hobo a lot. We always made fun of that store because they have these beautiful fake dust covered cakes in the window. I've been in and it just didn't do much for me, who knew there was so much going on in there!

The show is fake and stagey but those cakes are BEAUTIFUL.

I only watch because I enjoy making cakes. I usually do every year for birthdays, I get ideas from that show!

Wow, I don't think of it as fake or "staged" at all. I love it!

HOw much does one of those huge cakes cost? The ones that weigh like, 500 pounds or something? And do they really taste that goof?
