Are there any brands of vitamins that are as good as Solgar but cost less?

Thanks!

Well,

The best brands are ones that make whole food vitamins such as Megafood and New Chapter.

Thorne is also superior (although not whole food) because they use more bioavaliable forms of the vitamins. If you are looking for inexpensive, however, these will not fit the bill. I am of the opinion you get what you pay for.

Thorne seems pretty reasonable to me, maybe because I buy a lot of supps, though. But it's sold lots of places online and sales happen frequently, so look around a bit. Their multivit is called Basic Nutrients (5 versions, 1-5) and you don't necessarily need a full 6 capsules per day, take a look at the dosages of things and then decide, same deal with the mineral supps (the multivit has some minerals, some folks would want more though).

Thorne has real folate instead of folic acid and like the PP said, the forms of vitamins and minerals are generally well-absorbed.
