Sleepover entertainment

When a kid sleeps over at your house do you provide "structured" entertainment (other than a movie/toys) or just let them roam free to entertain themselves the whole evening?

Another 5.5yo is over with my son and neither of them wants to watch a movie.

This is our first sleepover at our house....should I be providing activies??

My dd has no interest in sleepovers yet. But I did a ton of sleep overs growing up, starting at like age three.

95% of the time we would just entertain ourselves. Once in a great while parents would have something small and simple planned (making smores in the fireplace, a movie, a small art project) but usually not.

If we got annoying though parents would give us ideas like "go play a board game".

Like usual I was all anxious over nothing.

I let the kiddo pop up our tent in his bedroom and they ran with that for hours.
We did go down to the park for little while before storm clouds rolled in, but the tent was a successful idea.

Thanks! I'll keep the board games as a plan b for next time. I wouldn't have thought about that!
