making yogurt

Thread Starter
I've tried to make yogurt twice and each time it's ended up looking like a bowl of milk. Does anyone have any advice or step by step blogs with pictures? I am so sick of paying $5 for a carton of full fat yogurt for DD.

This is a really good site...

Also, you can do it in a crockpot. I did mine that way the last 2 times, and will again tomorrow because it's so hot here I can do it on the porch. I add alot of powdered milk to mine to thicken it. I have experimented w/gelatin, but don't care for it.

I just wrote my own step by step instructions of what I do on my blog. It might be helpful to you (although I didn't do pics). Here it is: http://lamamita1.tumblr.com/post/931924781

Also, feel free to post what you have tried so far, maybe you have been missing a step or making a common mistake.
