Pink eye with fever... Still breast milk?

DD seems to have pink eye with a fever of 102. Is breast milk still best for this? What about the fever. We don't do tylenol or motrin.

TIA

ETA- shes 14mos

Personally, I wouldn't worry about treating a fever of 102*; I would just make sure to keep the LO hydrated and comfy as possible until it runs its course.

My ds2 is prone to pink eye. I use colloidal silver, but BM would be great, too.

Is it possible the fever is from an ear infection? Fever would signify bacterial at any rate and pink eye + ear infection are the "calling card" of non-typeable Hib. We had that around that age. My guy was better within 48 hours without needed the antibiotic--pediatrician treated it as wait and see like other infections essentially.

I don't know... she has coughed 4 times in the last 3 hours (lol) but thats all along with the increase in sticky nose mucus (just a bit more than norm) and her eye and fever.

how would I know about the ear? OR would I just KNOW?

I have been nursing as much as she wants (as usual) and putting BM in her eye abt 4 times today.

what else should I do?

I would do the BM in the eye and wait and see as well. Might be a sinus infection also since the sinuses and eye drainage are connected.

I continued with the BM several times each day and today her eye is looking much better.

Thanks for the input.

Just wanted to add here that fever can also be associated with viral infections as well as bacterial ones. Just because there is a fever present doesn't mean there is a bacterial illness
