I don't have pics , but I'll tell my story briefly. I have ulcerative colitis. Three years ago, when my twins were infants, I was down to about 97 pounds. I was steroid-dependent. Every time we reduced the steroid dosage, I got sick again. My colon was bleeding so badly that I was seriously anemic, and weak enough that I couldn't carry my fifteen pound son from the front door to the back door of my house. I was nursing at the time, and struggling to be able to continue nursing even though I was barely keeping myself alive. I was also on two other drugs, and spent upwards of three hours a day in the bathroom. I had debilitating joint pain, and chronically inflamed eyes.

Anyway, the only thing I've done since then is to clean up my diet, TF-style. Well, I was on the SCD for about two years, but I've been weaning from that to a more Nourishing Traditions-style diet since about December, and I'm still fine. I am off steroids, off the dangerous immune-suppressing drugs, and only taking a maintenance dose of an anti-inflammatory drug. I recently had a colonoscopy that showed complete remission of my disease. I have gained twenty-five pounds, and am now at a healthy weight for my height. My hair isn't falling out anymore, and my skin is clear and my eyes are bright; my joint pain is gone.

So I think I'm one of those classic success stories.

FWIW, we've also cured DD1's constipation and encopresis, and DH's irritable bowel, and gotten DS's allergies under control, with our dietary changes.
