Baby Girl's Adoption Final

Miss M is officially part of our family forever. We were on a family vacation this week in Vegas when the social worker called us and came home to the final decree in the mail. It was nice to be able to celebrate with all my extended family.
It seemed so slow in the beginning, but once she was placed in January it seems like everything went so fast.
We did the state's foster program and got her at 5 months and just exactly 7 months after we got the call for her, her adoption was finalized.
I can't begin to say how happy we are. She is such a sweet, happy, precious child and I am so happy she is part of our lives forever!

I've already congratulated you but wanted to do it here, too. She's a beautiful little girl and fits perfectly into your family. I can't believe how quickly things all went for you guys. It seems just yesterday that you posted this thread: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...634&highlight=

Will this be it or are you going to try to adopt again?

Yes, I can't believe how quickly everything went once we got the call. I still can't believe she has been with us 7 months already and it is finalized.

When the SW left the message she said at the end, "just let us know when you are ready for another". I am still working on convincing DH, but I have a feeling this won't be it for us. I also would like to do some respite care for weekends and maybe just foster, but we will see. I would eventually like to adopt a child in between DD and DS. I told DH I would leave him alone until end of year.

LOL. My Chris's adoption social worker called me to tell me that his adoption was final. In her next breath, she asked me if I was willing to adopt Polliwog if her mother's rights were terminated. I really had never thought about it but I automatically said yes, knowing that I wasn't bound to anything. It was such a surreal conversation because at that time, I thought she was still going to go to relatives.
