how are things looking mommymatsumoto?
Yay for high temps! Mine was up today too! I was so excited that I tested and got a BFN - ugh. I'm going to wait another two days and test again. It looks like you, me, and BabyCakes are all hanging in there.

Anyone else 9/10 dpo??

Everyone's symptoms sound so promising. Fingers crossed for all of you!

Motray so exciting to get the go ahead from your husband. I love the feeling of both having the same mind about TTC.

Good luck to you Elonwy.

Please move me to waiting to Know I finally got cross-hairs today at 5dpo. I am going to try not freak out later on in the cycle regarding getting my BFP or AF because I am not certain that I actually ovulated on CD 14. I think 14-16 are all possibilities. I actually don't care what day I ovulated as long as I am pregnant.

[B]BabyCakes[B], we need a chart we can all stalk!

MelungeonMW, woohoo for ovulation! And for our newest cycle buddy.

Cycle buddies
GolfAddict: 7DPO
BarefootScientist: 6DPO
Sweet.Bee: 6DPO
MelungeonMW: 5DPO

Good luck, cycle buddies! I'm picturing a lot of
going on inside our bodies right now.

I am between 10 and 12 DPO! I am in the wait with you ladies! Everyone's symptoms sound positive and yippy for high temps!!!

I am not sure when I will test, maybe Friday... possibly Saturday. I seem to recall I got pretty late BFPs with my other PGs. I was feeling PG the past two days, but woke up this morning and felt nothing... Although still soar bbs, but had those last cycle also.

Anyway, , baby_cakes, Cherrie and mommymatsumoto!!! I am off to post 1 to see who has charts to stalk! I don't have one online, sorry ladies.

EEk! I didn't realize it wasn't linked!!

Chartie chart!

Past few cycles, my temp dropped at 11DPO and AF arrived. That's tmw. I'll be so sad if it happens!!

Still crampy, a few more bfn's today. I have to literally run into the bathroom, pee and run back out, b/c I'm SO TEMPED to test every time I pee! Ugh, i'm officially insane! If my temp is down tmw significantly, I probably wont test, and save my FRERs, Answers, and Digis for next time!

Yay, Sarah! Alright, I'm expecting some BFPs soon! If it's not me, I hope it's one of my cycle buddies! I say that I'm going to wait until Thursday to test, but who am I kidding? I'll probably test tomorrow too.

Sarah 10-12 dpo
Baby_Cakes 10 dpo
Cherrie & MommyMatsumoto 9 dpo

I'm at 12-13dpo, can I join your cycle group? I'm trying to wait until Friday to test, assuming AF hasn't arrived between now and then.

Is it really likely to have a stark white bfn one day and a clear bfp the next? I just can't help but think I'm out since I took a few tests today and saw absolutely NADA. What do you think, girls?

There is some point, in every single BFP cycle, that the day's before test would be a BFN. It could be 7DPO, 10DPO or 13 DPO...
Hang in there.

i may be having a problem, ladies. im not going to talk about it right now, because i will start crying, and i dont want my kids to catch me with red eyes.... i should know tomorrow.

in the meantime, i had one of my typical kooky ideas today. maybe there will be some brave soul who wants to try this? i was thinking about testing results based on how concentrated your pee is that particular time you go, at the same time i was watching the food network. they were making a balsalmic reduction.

so i started thinking- do you think it is possible to make a pee reduction- gently simmer your testing sample until some of the water evaporates, and imagine if the hcg doesnt evaporate, i dont know if it would go out with the water or not, but it might get more concentrated, and you may get an earlier bfp? am i totally crazy to think this?

there is a fine line between genius, and insanity...

KarmaB... I'm really not sure what the high temperature would do to the HCG?

I don't know either...I'm thinking it might denature, but I volunteer to try this experiment. I'll let you know how it goes.

Edit: I found this paper - haven't read it all yet but it makes it sound possible. Thanks for giving me something to think about tonight. Before I read this I was just thinking, jeez am I STILL 6 dpo??

oh and karma I hope you DON'T have a problem.
Karma - I hope there is not a problem either

baby_cakes - With DD1 I had a BFN at 10dpo, stopped testing and got a BFP at 13 or 14 dpo... The BFP was very obvious at that point.

Livingsky - welcome to the group! that we all get BFPs in the next few days!
can i be moved to waiting for af

this cycle is a bust for me.

i feel rubbish

good luck to everyone else!

I shouldn't have even tested today - I know how long it takes hcg to double. And if it only implanted yesterday or the day before I know it takes more time. But of course i have all the tests in the bathroom, and I think why not?? and then I'm sitting here w/not one but two BFNs staring me in the face and I think, oh, this is why not. B/c it makes me so depressed! Ugh!

I'll still hold out a tiny crumb of hope, b/c that's all I have, but still. Gah!

Re - pee reduction - I have no idea but for some reason I think the hcg would burn off, right?
I don't *think* it would burn off, but it might not be heat stable. Well, I got out my lab notebook this morning and here's what I did (I'm 7 dpo so it's a little early to expect anything):

*Tested the FMU - stark white BFN.
*Split it up into two containers - put one in the freezer (this is what DH suggested I do last night when I told him about the experiment LOL) and one in a water bath on the stove.
*The one in the freezer I ended up leaving in there for 35 minutes, until there were ice crystals/chunks in there, then tested. Stark white BFN.
*The one on the stove, I had a little trouble getting the right temp. I had wanted to heat it to 55 C for 10 minutes or something but I ended up very slowly heating it up to about 52 and then leaving it there for 10 minutes and then cooling it down a little while it was still in the water bath. So all in all it was applied to heat for about the same time as the other one was in the freezer. The volume was decreased by ~25%. Tested, stark white BFN.

So this tells us nothing so far except that you don't get false positives this early from doing this. I can continue on with the experiment but I only have 10 tests left right now so I can only do ONE (freezer or heat) and still have a control and be able to get through 12 dpo. Which do you guys think I should do?

And of course if I'm not pregnant this cycle the experiment will be useless, but hey, my ICs are cheap.

Cool experiment. What we really need is for someone who already got a BFP to do an experiment. If a person who is pregnant reduces their pee and then gets a BFN, we would know the heat damaged the HCG and the strategy won't work. If they still get a BFP, we will know it is not all destroyed (although could still be less than there was originally). If the person JUST got their BFP, so their line is still really faint, that would be the best person to test it, because then if the quantities of HCG were reduced, it should take it below the threshold of the test, and give a BFN. Anyways, interesting thought experiment, but even if it turned out to work, there is no way I'm going to that hassle just to find out a few days early. lol.

Well, I know a lot of people who would. Yeah, anyone who gets a BFP in the next few days should save their FMU and do this! Tell us if the line is lighter, darker, or gone when you freeze/heat the urine.
