Post weaning breasts

I did extended nursing for the last 8 years and my five-year-old recently finished with breastfeeding (really it was more comfort sucking in the last couple of years). It has been about 5 months since it ended, and now I am wondering about my post weaning breasts.
I noticed over these past few months, that my breasts are more sensitive, and tender than before, and that my nipples are rather droopy (even a tad bit inverted on the lower part). My nipples are much bigger than they were pre-babies, and they have become quite pronounced (they were referred to as "little bullets" by my partner), and since no more regular sucking are, as I said, droopy.
As mentioned, my breasts, too, are rather sensitive and ache at times, randomly. Has anyone out there experienced any such similar feelings with their post weaning breasts?
Although my breasts were rather small upon ending the nursing stage, I am noticing they are starting to fill in a little more. I'm relieved for that I can tell you!

I developed fibrocystic tissue shortly after weaning. When it first developed it was very sensitive and painful. It settled down in a few months. I had to avoid coffee for a while. I never found out if there is a connection between weaning and fibrocystic tissue, but almost the exact same thing happened to a friend when her son weaned.
