Which elementary age math?

I am stuck on this one. I want a good program. But I do not feel a need for a program that is hard, while not being any better. I do not think harder or more work makes for better.

I did Singapore Math with my older children so I already have the textbooks and the 2B workbook, which is where my 8 yr old would be. But, my daughter says she does not like math, even though she is really good at it. Plus, my 8 yr old, while being very smart, has autism spectrum disorder, so he stresses out so much that it is hard to get much done.

I am wondering what everyone has tried and if they liked it. I want my children to love math as I am a math lover. My husband and I both have math type degrees (mine is econ and math and his is computer sci and math). I want my children to love math, as I have.

I did purchase Miquon for my 6 yr old. First day, he loved it. He wanted to know all the ways to do the blocks. But, once it got to doing any actual work, he said he did not want to do any of it. He just wanted to play with the blocks. Meanwhile, DS8 said he wishes he had those blocks, only bigger. He has base ten blocks for Singapore Math which are the same size as cuisenaire rods. I am wondering if Math U See would be the way to go, or if they would quickly complain about that too, as the pages are all black and white and do the same things on each page.

I also have considered BJU math. Of course, staying where I am is fine too, after all, I already own the books.

We liked Singapore, but if I had to do elementary math again I'd probably try MEP. It is free online, so easy to try and see if the activites/scope of the program fit you and your kiddo.

They have a yahoo group to help with placement and implementation questions.

We've tried MUS, Singapore, a bit of Miquon, but we ended up loving RightStart. My daughter prefers interaction rather than doing a workbook by herself, at least for math anyway. And I love the way it teaches math.

MEP also looks great, we are kinda using it now and then just for fun.
