I'm considering it and I wanted to know how you trained and what it was like. I do much better with sticking to a workout routine when I have a set plan for a race and I haven't been able to find any free training schedules for this kind of race.

My husband did, last year!
Here's what he says:
"I started training in early September (after a surgery in August). I started with 3 5k runs a week and incremented up by about 10% per week. I plateaued at a 5k, 10k, and then a 10 and 20 mile on consecutive days. A few weeks, I made my long runs actual distance (13 and 26 miles). One week before the race, I did just a 10k and a 10 mile, then gave myself 3 days off before the first race."

Your husband must be quite the racer. Last year's weather was horrible (we were there for my sister who just ran the half). His training schedule sounds like a very do-able plan. I'm currently training for a full marathon in mid-October and I was planning on building from there for the race in January.
I'm feeling a little crazy for considering this, but at the same time excited by the challenge.
