stains and resale. A two part question.

First, what is everyone's secret to getting poop stains out? i have some pretty gnarly ones from a bad winter that aren't coming out with the usual sunning. I'm not sure what else to do...

Second, assuming I CAN'T get the worst of these stains out, is there such thing as someone willing to buy stained diapers? They are definitely CLEAN, of that I'm sure, and some of them are nice such as BSRB. I assume if anything, I could only get maybe a couple dollars.. but can I really get even that?

and okay, I lied.. one more question... is there such thing as a buyer for diapers with some rips and tears? They still work fine but I'd hate to just toss diapers that will never get out of my house due to unwillingness to use. My goodmama's had a bad incident with the washer (it was a bad winter... ) and the insides of the inserts have some obvious issues. a couple others do too.

sigh.. one of the plusses was resale value... I feel like a failure...

I will buy stained diapers, no problem. Especially if I can buy your light/medium stained BSRB diaper for $8, compared to someone's unstained for $15+. No brainer. I have my own stain removing routine.

I will not buy torn/ripped etc diapers, unless they are almost free.

I know that is only one person, hope it helps!

Here are a few suggstions tot remove staining:

1. Oxy clean soak ( oxy clean free is completely safe for cd's- aka sodium percarbonate and is found in almost all detergents). Full washer with HOT water and add 1/4 oxyclean free. Let soak.
2. Make a paste of borax and lemon juice. Slather on your diapers and let sit.
3. Add washing soda to your wash routine.

There are tons of mamas that would buy diapers with stains- as long as you are fair on pricing and disclose all problems. Tears are another story. You could always donate the to the CLoth Diaper Foundation! or give them to a momma in need!

Hope that is helpful!
