Is this Thrush?

Hello wise moms! My DS is almost 12 months old. For the last week my nipples have hurt like they did when we first started breastfeeding. I don't have shooting pain, put it makes my clench my teeth and breathe deep. My nipples are red and flaky. Tonight after his bath I noticed my sons scrotum and penis are red and flaky as well. He constantly wants to switch sides, and screams during the switch.

He had white patches in his mouth last Sat, but by sunday they were gone, so I didn't think it was thrush. We both got pink eye on Wed, but the nipple pain was there prior.

Part of me wonders if it just that he has gotten his 2 upper teeth and the way he tries to position while nursing is rubbing the upper teeth against my nipple causing the pain.

Any help would be great. We are going to the Dr on Tues for his 12 month check up and I will mention it to the Dr, but I am surious as to what you ladies think. Thanks!

White patches aside, I had serious pain while dc were teething. I got my cycle back prety early, and the pain was more intense if they were teething and I was premenstrual or menustrating. A LLL leader told me that a child's saliva was different while they were teething and can lead to pain.

Thrush for me also included redness radiatating from my areola. You might try a vinegar/water wash and exposing your nipples to sunlight if you think it may be thrush.
