Tell Me This Cycle Is Over....

Yesterday I posted a question about when to quit progesterone if I had started spotting and was getting BFNs on 13DPO. So I decided to go ahead and call it over and skip the progesterone for the next two nights b/c I thought AF had officially arrived (and maybe she has?? I can't tell--only "fresh" blood has been in the toilet after a BM--otherwise there's just been dark brown spotting).

This morning I temp just to stay in the habit, and my temp had jumped substantially to 98.36. I had not made it into the 98s this cycle, even with the prometrium, and normally when I start AF my temp drops precipitously by CD2, it never jumps higher. I took two ICs this morning, and both were BFN, but now that temp has me second guessing my decision to stop the prometrium.

Has anyone had this happen before (a temp go up quite a bit in AF)? I know a single temp isn't really indicative of anything. A temp this high is just so unusual for me that it has me freaked out, though. 1 There's no way I'm still getting "false negative" BFNs at 14DPO from a sensitive test, right?

ETA: I also checked my CP the last two nights and it was in this weird position where it almost felt backwards. I had never felt it before, but I also mostly just check it every few days when not in my fertile period, so maybe I just missed it before.

can you get a beta? truly, temps during af can be wacky, up down or sideways, so it may be totally normal, but you could put your mind at ease with a beta.

I had been toying with the idea of a beta, but I would feel SO SILLY asking for one when I had no evidence that I was pg. ARGH. I think I'm just gonna leave off the prometrium again tonight and see what happens. If my temp is up again tomorrow, I may go pester the CNM. That, and I'll probably pee on every stick in the house between now and then....

that's fair enough. but you have no reason to feel silly asking. if you change your mind but still dont want to ask, you may be able to order it yourself.

this is one website, and you go to your local lab. there are other companies that do this too if this one doesnt have one near you. if you are in ok city or tulsa or stillwater or somewhere like that, it should be no problem finding one near you.

it would be very unusual to get a false neg at or beyond 14 dpo. i think it's 98% at 14 dpo and 99% at 15 dpo, if you are sure of your dates.

OOooo progesterone was the best and worst part of TTC for me. I felt glad to have it because I felt less afraid of miscarrying a viable pregnancy, but deciding to stop taking each month was a BEATING.

For me I made the decision to wait until 16dpo every month. I have heard of people getting BFPs at 14 and 15 dpo on here and my doctor agreed that 16dpo would be the right time. It helped to set a date and not second guess and agonize over the decision.

It is not silly at all to ask for a beta. I had two different OBs during the process and both were always happy to do a beta in order to give me peace of mind.

My fingers are crossed for you!

I had no idea you could order up your own labs--that's really interesting! DH would probably not be too thrilled with me if I did that since we're supposed to be saving. With those kind of percentages on false negatives at this point, I am sure I'm in the clear.

I don't think any other dates are probable for O. Here's my chartif you are interested in a peek.
