Aplix/Velcro - Washing ?

I am getting my CD stash ready for our first, due any day... Part of that stash consists of a dozen and a half flannel newborn fitteds that my SIL made for my niece, but never used. They have velcro fasteners and I am wondering about washing. Do I fasten the tabs to the front when I wash, to avoid them all getting snagged and hung up on each other? It would seem that that might cause water to get trapped inside and result in their not washing well? It's not a huge issue right now, because they are clean! But am wondering how to deal with this in the future as well. (I ordered all snap covers for the rest of my stash to avoid this very issue, but I can't turn down free fitteds!!!) TIA

If they dont have laundry tabs, then yes, you need to fasten them. you can Fasten them inside out If you like, but if they're fitteds and not pockets or aios, not sure it's really necessary. Of course, you could also add laundry tabs andbe done w it.

Thanks, that's what I figured. Not being skilled in the sewing arts (and in no position to start right now), would it work to just buy some loop ribbon and cut pieces the right size to attach just for washing?
