DH & I had the *hardest* time choosing a name for DS, and we finally settled on his name after he was born by default because we didn't like any others any better. (We like it now!) We're expecting another boy & I'd love to avoid the same situation again.
We'd like a "manly" sounding name, especially with a harder consonant sound to it. Something traditional or Biblical would be preferred as opposed to something too trendy or made up. Our last name is 2 syllables & ends in -er, so we really don't like the sound of a 2-syllable first name ending in -or or -er (like Connor). We'd prefer a name that's longer than 1 syllable, but we'd be happy using a 1-syllable nickname.
I really like the name Gabe, but not Gabriel. Anyone know of any other names that could have the nickname Gabe? I also like Cole, but not Coleman or Colbert or anything else I can think of that incorporates Cole. Others I like are Caleb (too many in our family) and Jacob (TOO popular - #1 in the U.S. last year!).
So if anyone wants to help me brainstorm, I'd appreciate it!!

Now have to come up with a boys name for baby #4. With our 2 boys we just immediately fell in love with their names and they were perfect! Haven't had any luck since...
