Flying tomorrow- what the heck do I bring to eat???

Hi- - The baby and I are flying to NC to visit my inlaws tomorrow. It is a short flight but there is a connection so all told I will be leaving my house at 7:30 am and not getting to their house until 2.

I am currently not eating all top 8 allergens plus corn and gluten.
I am also just starting on a Candida diet (sigh....) But I don't think I can be perfect with that while traveling.

Anyway- any ideas about what I could bring to eat? I will have a 5 month old on my lap so I can't very well pack quinoa or something. This is the time when I really miss granola bars and nuts.

Can you find jerky that's free of the things you need to avoid?

Rice cakes

Dried fruit (unless you really need to avoid this due to the candida issue)

cut up veggies (carrots, celery, etc.)

Is there any way to get dried peas or beans (so, sort of like nuts but legumes instead?)

Or can you bake some sort of muffins or cookies out of bean flours that are high in protein and easily portable?

Actually, baking your own "Granola bars" or cookies is probably your best bet, even if the end result doesn't taste much like a cookie. You can cram it full of rice protein powder, flax seeds, bean flour- whatever nutritious ingredients you have in your house that are safe for you to eat. Mush it all together into a dough and bake on a cookie sheet.

For travel, I often make something like drumsticks or baked meatballs (no sauce, similar to a meatloaf recipe, or sometimes just plain with some herbs thrown in), plus some pieces of fruit or cut up carrots/celery and, ah, I'd take nuts but none for you. If seeds are okay, pumpkin seeds are tasty.

I'm flying on Saturday. I'm bringing potato chips (Utz and Cape Cod are safe brands I can find around here with no soy, corn, etc.), rice cakes, some fruit (probably an apple and a couple of clementines), and actually the carrot/celery sticks is a great idea! I think I'll add that to my list. Before I leave, I'll probably have some high protein/fat to tide me over (like bacon and eggs).
