I'm new to the WAHM Well board. I've just read the guidelines and I'm pretty sure I understand them, but I wanted to make sure I'm on the up-and-up.
DH and I are starting an outdoor-adventure travel business in France over the next year. I guess we'll both be working from home! I'll be homeschooling and taking care of much of the paperwork and advertising side of the business. He'll be doing the leading of tours.
We're not at the point of setting up a website yet because we're still collecting information and numbers and writing a business plan, so no actual service to advertise and promote yet.
I've started a blog that chronicles our family's adventures as we get up and going (and move to France!). We did this for a couple of reasons: Lots of our friends are very outdoorsy themselves and offer great advice....a blog seemed a great way to get it all in one place. We were tired of talking about our business ALL THE TIME! So we now direct folks to the blog to get up to date with new ideas/developments. It helps us stay focused, but also gives me a space to write about how the move is affecting our family and I'm enjoying that....and I hope the kids go back to look at it some day!
So...given that we aren't currently selling anything, is it appropriate for me to link the blog here to ask for feedback from the wise Mamas on MDC about our business? We've had comments from friends about how the blog reads, and I think I've addressed some concerns, but it's hard when I'm so close to it to read it like a stranger would coming on it for the first time. I want the following to be clear:
1 It's a blog, not the business website (so it's informal and about our family adventures, too)
2. What's our business and what will we offer?
Can I post it and ask for feedback?
Thanks,
MammaG

If you purchase a Business Subscription later, you'll be able to place links and/or blog/biz names in your signature. (Quick explantion for MDC's policy is that both free and business links need a paid package since they both redirect members to a different website.) Enough
from me though.
Everyone can find more info on MDC's website rules in the FAQ in my siggy if you want.
