Crawling position-normal?

My 9mo dd has a strange technique for crawling, and I guess I'm just trying to get some reassurance that this is within the realm of normal. When she is sitting up, for the most part she prefers to sit with one leg bent in front and one to the back, tucked under her. So when she goes to crawl, she lunges forward from that position and pulls the back leg into a normal crawling position but she leaves the front leg crossed to the side. It's hard to explain, but she seems to be getting around alright that way. She pulls to stand and even walks holding onto our hands and her legs seem fine then. She is also a relatively new crawler, she just started in the last couple weeks. Should I be concerned about this? I should probably add that my dd1 was a very late crawler and walker due to sensory issues with her feet so I may be a little more apprehensive about it due to what we went through with her.

**Editing my OP in case anyone finds this thread by searching. My dd is now doing the regular cross crawl. I guess she just needed more practice

I think it sounds pretty normal. It sounds like she's found a position that she's comfortable with right now and once she continues to crawl more, she learn other positions.

Sounds normal to me. As she gets more adept at crawling she will get it all figured out. For about 3 weeks my son would get his feet tangled together and kind of hop one over the other, but he got where he wanted to go! Now he cannot be stopped!

another vote for normal!

My DD2 did that, too, just like you describe. She did eventually work out how to crawl in the usual hands and knees way, but by that time she was nearly ready to walk. So she did most of her crawling in this odd way. I don't know if it's "normal," but I can say with confidence that she's just fine. She's 3 1/2 now.
