Anyone want to join me in a hsing area cleanup?

We've got a week until we start school, and my schoolroom is buried under books and toys!

Anyone want to join me in a cleaning and decluttering the schooling areas thread?

I'm starting tonight.

I don't homeschool, but I will join you in cleaning up the toys and books...my son is having a friend come to play this week and I really want his room to look more organised.

so far I've put away onto shelves a large stack of books, carried out three totes of assorted items into our storage room, and sorted out flashcards and put them into drawers.

Still need to:

Put away DD's books
shelve the rest of the stacks of books
fix DD's desk
take out the extra books that we don't want to the garage
bring in one more bookshelf
find a place for a small bookshelf
vacuum the floors
clean off the tops of the file cabinets
move a few pieces of furniture out to the garage
set up dry erase board and corkboard

I'll join in! I need to get started tomorrow... I have bookshelves to organize and a hutch that is piled high with this, that, and the other. It's out of control.

So far today I've:

picked up and put away all DD's non-school books
picked up the magnetic letters and numbers into buckets for use

Taking a small break to rest before I start tackling shelving books and vacuuming the floor.

I wish I had a whole room that could be dedicated to HSing supplies, but we don't. I did however begin to tackle, and I mean really tackle the closets! Dropped of one bag to a donation bin at the grocery store today and stuck one in the closet for a children's clothes swap at the next farmer's market, and it looks like I'll be up late getting the rest to fit back in there in a tiny sort of manner!

echospiritwarrior - we don't have a full room either. Our school room is half of the master bedroom that DD and I share.

last night we did a side project and tried on school clothes {DD wears private school uniforms now on school days since we live right next to a home-school hating school and they've already come twice thinking she was truant because someone reported her out of school}. My has she grown!

Today's goals are:

Fix DD's desk
Vacuum floors
Take extra books to garage for yard sale
Pull dd's books for this fall

Oy. I need to do that too. Maybe I'll work on it a little bit this evening.

Finished taking all the extra books out today. Now I just need to:

Bring in one more bookcase
Vacuum
Fix DD's desk

I'm almost done!
