How do I find the Lord of the Rings movie in Spanish?

I'm trying to learn Spanish. I don't have many movies memorized, but the LOTR trilogy, oh yes, I do. Word for word.

I thought it'd be helpful to watch it dubbed in Spanish. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to find that very readily availabe. I'd prefer a zone free copy, or one zoned for viewing in the US. I have very limited access to a zone free DVD player, but it'd be a major hassle.

To top it off...is there a version in "American" Spanish; as in, not in Castilian Spanish? As in, the Spanish spoken by Spanish speakers in North America?

Anyone? Anyone? I'm asking a lot, I know.

You can watch the American release on blu-ray in Spanish. Not sure about the DVDs but it probably includes Spanish language track also. Just go into the settings and change the language track choice.

Dang. I don't have a Blu-Ray DVD player.

There isn't a Spanish language option in the settings. I could add Spanish subtitles, but no dubbed version. At least, not on the extended releases that I own.

If you have a ps3 you can watch the BluRay movies too. I know you probably don't, but I thought I would mention it. I read that something like half of people who OWN a PS3 don't know it's also a BluRay player.

Do you have any Latin American markets where you are? Some international markets rent and sell movies in languages other than English. For example, my local Indian market rents movies from India in Malayalam, Bengali and Hindi among others. The local Latin American market probably has Spanish language movies for rent.

oh and one more option, check out your local HBO, Showtime ect. One of them has a Spanish movie channel and they show the same movies on the regular HBO but in Spanish language. I'm not sure if they would be showing LOTR anytime soon but you can check.

oh, also if you have netflix they have a whole section of Latin American movies. I've rented a lot of foreign films from them.

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions.

However, I didn't realize that about 4 years ago, we purchased a region-free one...DH teaches German and Spanish, and so he bought one (with our money) so that he could use it in the classroom. Then the school purchased one for the language department, so dh brought his home. All this time, I've had access to a region free one without even knowing!

Good news, DH ordered me the complete set in Spanish! Woot!

Thanks! L
