Cooking outside?

I would like to start setting a goal to cook one meal outside. It's just too hot! I would like to put together a solar oven, but until then, I'll stick with pit cooking.
Anyone else interested in this? I'm going to call my dad for some recipes.

I don't have a fire pit in my backyard yet , but we camp a lot.

We recently bought a dutch oven and dh's grandparents gave us one that we had to strip down and season. This is the blog that helped us do that..thanks to MDC mom suggestions.
