Free money!

OK I just couldn't resist calling it that -- got your attention!

Somehow I ended up on Kohl's mailing list & they send me $10 gift cards a couple of times a year. Not $10 off $25 -- I hate those because I don't even like spending $15 -- and places like Kohl's always have a ton of clearance items. I spent $0.41 of my own money the other day & 'saved' $31 (got myself a shirt & DS a toy). LOVE deals like that!!

OK I'm rambling!

Anyway -- so what other places send out gift cards like this? I'd love to sign up for mailing lists so I can get the gift cards. And if you're not on Kohl's mailing list, sign up now!!!

I just got one, too. I never shop at Kohl's, so I dunno why they mailed me one. I will have to check and see if you have to spend a certain amount. I didn't really even look at it.

I think JCpenny's does something similar - not sure if you have to buy something, though.

oops, double post. Sorry

Do you have to have the Kohls credit card in order to receive the coupons in the mail?
Well, I haven't received any of those cool coups, but I did receive something in the mail that definitely caught my attention!! It's a claim form from an accident that I was in over 7 1/2 years ago. I'm due around $190!!! That is something that we could really use right now and could possibly put towards building my CD stash!!!

JC Penneys does this as well...have one going on now in my area.

Yes, both Fashion Bug and JCP have $10 of a purchase of $10 or more. When I worked at Fashion Bug we would have people come in all the time just to pick up things like panties, socks, etc. to get for free, so don't feel bad/weird if you decide to do the same.

I just got one from JC Penney and bought DS a new backpack for $2.16! They didn't have it instore so I got it shipped to the store for free.

Did you sign up for actual mailings or e-mailings? I definitely like the idea of free gift cards!

I love those! I've gotten a few things like that from Victoria's Secret. No terribly practical items in that store, but it's fun to go get some frilly panties for free

At least here in Canada, if you sign up for their e-mail newsletter, Naturalizer shoe store gives you a $50 gift card on your birthday. The lady says you don't have to spend a certain amount, just that it can't be less than $50.

No, I don't have a Kohl's cc & I never even shop there, I actually don't know how they even got my address but they always send the coupons to me!

I want to sign up for the others -- JC Penney etc. -- except it seems all I can find is the email list sign up... Does anyone remember how they got on the list???

Yep, I get the Kohl's ones all the time, they come every two months or so. I signed up for their email list when I was in the store....and I think I got a 5.00 coupon for doing that, too.

We get the Kohl's coupons occasionally. We never used to shop there, but they started sending them to us, so we went to check it out. Now we shop there every time we get a coupon! I buy most of DS's clothes there when they have a coupon and a seasonal sale, so after I saw this thread I decided to check out their website. Just for creating an online account (name, email address and password), and then signing up for email alerts, you get a $5 gift certificate. That's a shirt or pair of shorts for DS, so I'm good with that.

Hmmm... I just signed up for Kohls and J.C. Penney's email list and they both asked for my mailing address. I am hoping I will get the coupons now too!

Ahh OK you're right there was a spot for your mailing address after you enter your email! Hope I get some gift cards!!

I get the Kohls coupons. I always assumed it was because I live right down the block from one of the stores. I have never had a Kohls charge until this week.

My DS1 had his heart set on these crazy expensive sneakers for this school year. I would've spent $35-40 at Stride Rite like I did last year, but the ones he likes are Skechers that are $55, regular price. When I went to spend this latest $10 at Kohls, I saw that they were $50 on sale, down to $40 with my coupon. I also let the girl talk me into opening a CC (I'm glad though, the better online coupons are for Kohls CC holders only) -- and I got an additional $6 off bringing my total to $34. Less than Stride Rite!

Gotta see if these work in Canada.
