Grain free, egg free, dairy free, lower GI breakfast options?

Okay, I know this sounds ridiculous. However, I'm tired of eating bacon every day for breakfast! Anyone have some yummy, not quite so adventurous (I just can't handle strong, dinner-esque flavors in the morning...lol) ideas for me? I'm really tired of eating bacon every single day for breakfast, and it's definitely getting expensive too, but my brain is too fried to think of other ideas...

Just a couple ideas, and I don't know if they are low GI or not.

Green Smoothie--you can use 1/2 cup strawberries, 1/2 avocado, 2 cups greens, coconut milk, water, *stevia* (helps you to get away w/ less fruit/carbs than a typical green smoothie), vanilla extract. YUM.

Soup? I like it for breakfast, and find it mild enough.

Take 1/2 cup any kind of nuts/seeds. Chop in a food processor so they are in small chunks (think like grapenuts ish--maybe bigger). Put in a bowl, top w/ coconut milk and a pinch stevia and vanilla extract, (you know what morning flavors I like), some cinnamon, and eat like 'cereal'. I use watered down coconut milk so it's more like regular milk.

Sausage (I love it)

Chorizo w/ avocado and salsa?

I also do grass fed hot dogs for breakfast, b/c they are so quick and easy. Add to this a green smoothie and its a delicious and quick meal.

Maybe too strong tasting, but I also like salmon salad for breakky--canned salmon, mustard, onions, salt, pepper, a little lemon juice if I have it, parsely or other fresh chopped herbs.

Just my thoughts at the moment. I'm watching w/ interest, as I'm basically free of those things atm (working on getting eggs back in though! )

I was JUST coming here to post this same question!!! I find with SCD, The Makers diet, or even the new daily apple (I think that's what it's called) all use a combination of the things I'm trying to avoid

I was thinking of doing GF so I could still have some grains....sort of a transition into grain free

I used to have the same restrictions s

How about a sweet tasting soup like butternut squash. Once I got used to it I really enjoyed soups in the morning, especially in the winter. I ma actually planning on going back to that once the weather cools down.

Breakfast sausage and sauteed apple/cabbage

Berry/co milk smoothie

Well my DH is mostly paleo, fairly low carb, and hates eggs with a fiery passion, so most of what he eats for breakfast fits your criteria! Here are some of his meals that I can think of...

*sausage or bacon and fruit - I have a good sausage recipe here: http://cavemanfood.blogspot.com/2009...t-sausage.html you can just leave out the egg
*nuts and fruit
*coconut fruit salad if we can get our hands on some coconut butter - http://cavemanfood.blogspot.com/2009...uit-salad.html
*nut flour pancakes (most of these will have egg as an ingredient, but you can use flax seeds as an egg replacement)
*these: http://www.sonofgrok.com/2009/02/rec...veman-cookies/ or these: http://www.sonofgrok.com/2009/01/rec...peach-patties/

I also personally really enjoy cold roast beef with mayo and pepperoncinis. Someone mentioned avocado and chorizo, that sounds awesome too!

I make grain-free granola, similar to what FairyRae suggested, except I make a whole batch at a time. I based mine off of this recipe: http://www.elanaspantry.com/granola/. I just use whatever nuts I have on hand. I really like using dried dates instead of raisins, but you could probably use any dried fruit. Hope this helps .

Sorry, I don't have any advice, but I'm going to post what everybody else is thinking. Is it really humanly possible to be sick of bacon?

I know I never am...but I do know some people who don't even like bacon. More for me I guess!

Thank you SO much, guys! These are great ideas, and I particularly love the squash soup idea. I make yummy squash/ginger soup with coconut milk and that would be a good way to ease into the day.

I love bacon, but it has its drawbacks- I eat so much that I occasionally have to compromise and get conventional, for one thing- ew. For another, even though I can tolerate HUGE amounts of fat, it leaves me feeling vaguely yucky sometimes.

Soup and these other pre-made ideas are fantastic! I've been having to be at work around 4:30 or so in the morning too, so a lot of these would be easy to just heat and go.

ETA: And there's also an article on CNN today about the price of bacon going up substantially, which I thought I noticed when I went to buy some the other day.
