I'm just looking for support really.
During my pregnancy with DD1 i developed a goiter and had all the symptoms of hypothyroidism (i'd had some symptoms, and a family history, for years before then but never been tested because doctors refused to believe that i couldn't lose weight and assumed i was lying about diet and/or exercise i think). No-one ever tested me. Eventually after she was born and i'd lost a ton of weight then begun to lose my milk i went to the GP and got tested and dx and put on thyroxine.
Since then i've had a great GP and he monitored me and adjusted during my (very healthy) pregnancy with DD2. But i'm 10 weeks PP and my goiter is coming back and i just got thyroid test results in with highish FT4 (22.7) and lowish TSH (0.12). I'm just dreading another episode of craziness. If i get too hyper i can't medicate because i'm BFing, last time i lost 50lbs of weight, and though i could lose 20 comfortably just now, 50 would leave me totally emaciated.
I'm seeing my doctor on Monday to have an IUD fitted and we're going to discuss it then. I don't know what to ask for/do. I think he'll ask me to reduce thyroxine, which i know is the right thing to do given my bloods, but i know from last time my TSH can go from 0.09 to 27 in less than a month once the swing from hyper to hypo hits, and when i got hypo last time was when my milk began to bomb.
I hate Hashi's!
