Disposable at $44?! (For the organic.) Wonder if it's as breastfeeding- and baby-friendly as it is hospital intervention-friendly.
I finally feel old enough to have the kids that I have.
I married at 18, had our first at 21, and will be 30 a month after this baby (#4) is born. Another good friend of mine also had her 4th in the same year of her 30th birthday and their 10th anniversary (two weeks after mine). Pretty monumental year for her, and normalizes my life a little bit.
DH is 8.5 years older, and I'm hoping his age has had a positive effect on this baby and *maybe* we finally get a girl.
(Supposedly older fathers are more likely to father girls. I'm not entirely sure if he's "older" yet, but, I'll take what odds I can get.
We were out of town Friday/Saturday and had a nice trip. My boys had a great time with their friends (whom they see so rarely that the littles ones are all getting to know each other as though for the first time). We got to attend our friend's graduation, hang out and talk/play, and went for some yummy BBQ in Austin (an hour's drive or so) and then went to the state capitol where the kids ran up and down all the stairs to get to the top of the rotunda.
My friend is due 5-6 weeks after me, and has the perfect little belly. Me, not so much.
But, I think *maybe* it's starting to be more obvious that it's *baby* and not just belly.
It certainly feels like baby, complete with stiffness and soreness and waddling and all that.
I hit 27 weeks on Friday.
Estimates I'm reading are that baby is now around 2lbs! Wow! I see my MW tomorrow/today (Monday), so that should be great. I'm guessing I have one more 4-wk wait and then we're down to 2 weeks between appts.
I have a legitimate shot at having a baby in about 12 weeks, which sounds so much sooner than 13.
It's nice to be officially 6 months no matter HOW you count, and into the 3rd trimester for sure. Even though that means that walking to/from the capitol on Saturday was KILLING me - no fun trying to walk through cramping round ligaments in 100+° heat! Oh, well.
I do think I got fairly dehydrated in the last few days - starting even before our trip. My lips are chapped and I'm feeling parched most of the time. It's not truly severe, but it's enough to make me feel like some sort of fluid infusion would be nice! I seriously am not sure how I can drink enough to make this feeling go away. Bah. Perhaps the Floradix (skipped while we were gone) will help, too...
Trying to get ready to start up with homeschooling my entering 1st and 3rd graders.
Monday is the official start for public schools here, so after the MW appointment (which I forgot about before I promised this outing!), we're heading to the science/dino museum to celebrate NOT going back to school.
I do miss first days of school, though! They were always my favorite when I was little. Ah, well. I am NOT sad to be sleeping in tomorrow instead of being up at the crack of dawn!
Will try to keep up with this chatty bunch now that we're back home!
