Any Success Stories w/ Domperidone/Low Milk Supply?

Hello all.

I feel like I need to 'give up' on the domperidone. I've been on it for almost 6 weeks and have not seen a major increase.

Can someone share their success story w/ domperidone or herbs? How long did it take... did you pump 8-10 times a day?

Before you give up on the dom, I'd ask how much you're taking.
I did not see enough of a supply increase while on it stop supplementing entirely but I've realized since that I might have if I'd known that I could take more than 90 mg a day. Some women take 120 mg or even 160 mg a day as per Dr. Newman.
Worth a try...

It has really helped me. I've been taking 120 per day. Started at 90 per day back in June and then to 120 in July. My son is almost 5 months old. I don't have to supplement with formula anymore. Just expressed BM. I'm in the process of weaning him from the lactaid but that's for another post.

I pump 5-6 times per day still. I'm so afraid of loosing my supply.

A few questions for you, are you supplementing and if so via what method.

How much dom are you taking?

When did you all decide to start taking domperidone? I am on week 6 of exclusive pumping (my son has a cleft palate) and I am producing about 1.5-3 oz every 2-3 hours but my son is taking in about 3-4 oz every 3 hours and I am quickly loosing the stored milk. I've tried herbs including goat's rue and no real change. I just got bigger horns and have been pumping every hour for a few hours a day when I can and get a little bit more than I was getting, but not enough.
Will be talking with my midwife next week about dom, to see if she thinks its worth a try.

I'm taking 90mg/day... b/c I forget to take 120mg/day.

I'm glad to hear it has worked for you, MominKS. That's the kind of encouragement I need.

Natanya: I, too, have been on Goat's Rue with little change. I can't remember if I read that it takes a month to work; I've been on it for over a month.
I was just reading how progesterone helps with glandular tissue too. So, I'm thinking I need to eat yams and egg yolk, too. And, I am wondering if maca will work. I have that, and it's good for hormonal balance, but I haven't read about people trying it for glandular tissue/lactation/breastmilk.

Any more success stories?
