a brick of tofu

how long does it take you to get through it?

And just for fun, what's your favorite way to eat tofu?

Generally one meal, but sometimes there are left overs of what ever I have cooked from it.

I'm very fond of tofu with ginger and scallions.

One meal if eaten as a main dish; several meals if it is part of a pot of curry veggies or lentils.

My favorite way to eat it: marinade it (I have a few different marinades), skewer and grill on the stove-top grill with other veggies!

I've been careful of my soy consumption during pregnancy & breastfeeding, but now that my youngest (and last) is almost 1 and I've found myself leaning away from the dairy/eggs that I used to rely on for protein, I've been eating more tofu. I've also started eating more beans, quinoa, and nuts so I think I have a good variety.

But I really enjoy the tofu and trying not to overdo it

eepster - ginger and scallions! I've just in the past year started using ginger in my cooking, so that sounds awesome.

CatsCradle - I like using marinades w/the tofu too, but I haven't tried grilling yet. I was just cleaning my cast iron griddle/grill the other day and thinking that I should try to use it soon. I think tofu will be involved in that.

Breaded and baked or fried! Yum!

No, but honestly, more often than not we just cut it up and throw it in a stir fry! Gone in one meal! (Usually we use 2 packs, too!)

2-3 packs per meal for a family of five.

My fave is baked/grilled with apricot glaze - apricot jam/jelly mixed with tamari, vinegar, dry mustard, and a little olive oil.

I did cinnamon (vegan) honey mustard the other day, and that was pretty good, too!

I treat a block of tofu as 4 servings.

It lasts one meal, with a snack's worth of leftovers.

I usually do either tofu stirfry or oven roasted tofu with veggies.

Usually, a brick of tofu is 5 servings. But it really depends on the dish I'm cooking. If I'm making into "meat"balls, it's about 5 servings. But if we're having BBQ tofu, 2 servings.

One brick of Tofu is enough for 1 meal. Thats just for DS and myself. Sometimes there is a little left. I like this recipe-see link below. Its easy, quick and tasty. I also do different baked Tofu dishes and Stir frys.

One meal. Sometimes we use 2 bricks for one meal.

My current fav has to be scrambled tofu from Vegan Brunch.

One brick lasts us 2 meals usually(theres me,dh, ds(4) and dd(19m). But that might not last much longer since the kids eat more then us. We usually have tofu in curries and stirfrys so its not as much as if it was served in a "traditional meatand veg kinda meal"

One meal for just DS and me. Sometimes there is a little leftover.
