Stupid doctors! (RANT!)

So, we went in for ds2's 12 month 'well check' (most all of which I find utterly pointless and silly as we don't vax so its just like 'hi how you doin?' 'he weighs x and is x inches long' (as if I couldnt weigh/measure him at home )), and I got the un-surprising "OMGZ! He's dropped on the charts! OMGZ!! - cause' of course him being a breastfed vs formula fed kid he's "dropped horribly" down on their growth charts (he's 29.75" and 19.1#s and 18.5" head...). But when you chart them on the WHO charts he's peachy fine. Of course, I forgot to ask about that/tell her about that, so I'm gonna have to call tommorrow. But yeah. Stupid doctors freaking out are just so obnoxious. This is why I didn't bother w/ them from 9 months to 3 yrs w/ ds1... and am contemplating cancelling or justnot showing up for the 15 month visit...

Anywho... just wanted to vent

we got the same thing with dd (now 4.5yr). dr had us keeping a journal of everything she ate for a month . we have a new dr now, and while she did mention that ds had dropped to the 4th%, she looked up dd's chart and saw that she was the same at 12mo. she's not concerned, but said it's something she'll kind of keep an eye on to be sure he doesn't drop even further. dd was about 16lbs at 1yr (i think) and ds was just over 19lbs. she did ask if there was anything different from 6-12 months that seems to happen, and i wante dto laugh and say...'yeah, we don't introduce formula or any junk food", but held my tongue. imo, dr's need to be familiar with the who charts as well, since not all lo's fit nicely into the "formula" charts.
