any one else have mulitple periods/month?

For the second month in a row I'm having multiple periods. Three last month and on my second one this month - happening about every 2 weeks or so. I plan to see my doctor, but figure I ought to wait till I'm not bleeding, right? From a brief web search it seems like I might have fibroids.

Any one have experience like this? Did it happen out of the blue?

I'm no expert or anything, as this only happened to me once, but from what I gathered it was an anovulatory period, meaning you don't ovulate, don't release an egg and your cycle is all jacked up because of it. I thought that fibroids=heavy periods, not missed ones. I don't really know, I just wanted to tell you what I thought my problem was. Some other possibility, PCOS. Hope you get it figured out soon, hth!

Have you ever thought of temping?

Are you familiar with Basal Body Temperature as a way to see what's going on with your cycle? If you take your temp 1st thing each morning at the same time, you can see a marked temperature change when you ovulate -- if you're not ovulating, you can tell. Over in Family Planning forum there are a lot of ladies who know a LOT about cycles -- it might be worth posting over there, as there are group who share their temp charts and discuss. Good luck! (I also had this happen to a friend in High School - her doc told her she was anemic ) Good luck!

When I was having my period every 2 weeks I was diagnosed with PCOS.

Traditional Chinese medicine is AWESOME for female reproductive issues. I'd definitely check them out. Acupuncture and herbs can do wonders.

Now I'm feeling scared - I *really* want to have another baby asap. I just made an appointment with my primary (who is also my gyno) for tomorrow afternoon.

After I know what is going on I'd be glad to consider alternative therapy, thanks for the suggestion.

I have heard of women having heavy ovulation bleeding so that there is pattern of bleeding every two weeks. Still regular, only twice as often as expected. Typically, every other "period" would be lighter but still can be substantial for some.

I would highly recommend temping. You'll know when and if you are ovulating and where in your cycle the bleeding is happening. (It is also easier than I ever expected after avoiding bothering with it for years.) Even with a doc helping, this information is an important tool for both of you.

I've had my period every 3 weeks, for 10 days, since my first PP period at 28 mos. (for the past 10 months). I think I am ovulating because I get EWCM at ~14 days, but then a week later, bleeding.

I *know* I should be charting. I suspect it is a short luteal phase, but only temping and charting will let me know for sure.

I also believe that acupuncture could help with this. It helped me regulate my cycles (short LP then, too) before I conceived. My acupuncture was weekly and also included Chinese herbs.

I just saw my provider yesterday, and she wants 3 months of charts, then a return visit for a consult. She didn't ask for temps (just days of bleeding, symptoms and maybe correlated foods), but I'd rather keep track of am temps than record everything I eat!

I'm going through the same thing right now. My last 2 cycles were 21 days (one seemed ovulatory, the other not so much). And now I am on CD16 or something and am bleeding I am going to the doctor on the 31st. I'll let you know if I figure anything out.

Temping and charting could tell you a lot. It would be super helpful for you to know if and when you are ovulating, how long your luteal phase is and how long your follicular phase is.
