Eczema Reaction

Does anyone know how long or QUICKLY it can take for one to have a food reaction that shows up as eczema? I was on day four of adding back corn in my elimination diet for my baby (through breastfeeding) and the eczema came back...a small patch on his face...I'm assuming it was the corn...haven't added anything else back yet, BUT my dd (smart girl she is) realized for me that the chocolate I THOUGHT was dairy free from the night before actually wasn't...it had 'milk powders' in it......SO, I'm wondering, could an eczema reaction happen that quickly? Does anyone know for sure....I had the chocolate around 6 or 7, breastfed at about 8 and then not again until about 2 in the morning....the spot was there at about 9:00 when he woke up for the day......
Thoughts?

I would say it can go either way. DS can break out in eczema pretty quickly, but I know of people with delayed reactions as well. I think I would take corn back out til it heals, then try again. Which, of course, sucks.

My daughter is very allergic to wheat. 6 hours on the nose. She'll start scratching and I count back 6 hours and think, "oops I guess that was contaminated" or "well so much for that brand that was supposedly wheat free." I'd imagine the time window is different for each child but just start writing down and maybe you'll see a pattern.

This is really frustrating....To think I actually thought corn would be the least of the problems....which is why I tried it first! ugh....

my gluten eczema is 4-6 hours. 4 hours if i touch it (like playdough or body products) and around 6 hours if i ingest.

Yes, I believe that my breastfed son reacts this quickly to what I eat. He nurses only at bedtime and upon waking.

If I am exposed to dairy during the day...

Nurse to sleep sometime between 9-11pm, and there can be an itchy, scratchy wake-up at either 1am or 4:30am.

Well I guess that answers that it could indeed have been the milk....either way, I guess I'll toss corn back out and try it again at the end.....now I just hope this latest bit clears up soon so I can try something else....this is more frustrating than I thought it would be....oh, but I do love the little guy!
