vent: prayer, gossip & lies

If you are mean and arrogant to people while you are secretly "praying" that they go away, it is probably not God answering your prayer when they actually go away.

I have issues with certain "prayer requests." I really wonder who/what people are actually praying to sometimes.

And people wonder why others have issues with organized religion. If I hear one more "us' vs. "them" statement, thinly disguised or not, I think I might :Puke

Ugh. I remember when I was a youth leader we had a boy get up and say he had a prayer request...No problem right? "I want to pray for XGirl...I heard she's pregnant." *screeching halt noise* We stopped service right then and there (killed the mood of prayer) and made a point to say "It's fine to want to pray for someone but it is NOT okay to use it as gossip."

I especially hate it when adults do it.
