Saturday August 14th 2010 at 2:07 pm 5 lbs 13 oz baby girl 18 inches long... by far my smallest baby!!!

I have had an extremely rough pregnancy and haven't posted much but I wanted to write my first ever birth story... 4th baby though.

Well, Friday started out like every other day for the past few weeks... feeling lousie. I got a bath and relaxed while my mil had here brother here with his 2 grandchildren and my 10 month old son was playing with them. When I got out of the bath I found some blood... dark blood (didn't know if this was bad) so I got myself dressed and asked my mil to watch my baby while I went to get checked out.

When I got to the hospital at 2:30 pm I was checked and I was 3 and 80 and that was a change from my appt so they figured the blood was from changing. They stuck me on the monitors for a few hours and determined I was having regular contractions every 5 min that I wasn't noticing so they put me on an iv because I was 1 day shy of being term. Well, the contractions spaced out with the iv fluids so I figured I would go home in the morning but the dr had ordered me there for 23 hour observation and my body decided it was going to start the contractions back anyway! They weren't regular and when I layed certain ways they went away and when they checked me at 6:30 am I had only dialated 1/2 a cm more. and was still 80 and they could push her head away. The doctor said I could walk around to see if that made anything worse and get checked again after 45 min. I have never walked to get labor going I have always had super fast labors. Well, while walking the contractions started hurting more and I couldn't move during them. They weren't horrid so I figured I was just irritating my body by walking. When I went back to be monitored for the 15 min the contractions spread back out and when she checked me I was still the same so I figured I was going home. I still had a few hours to make a change before the 23 hours was up but I really was in denial about being in labor. After the 3rd walking session when I came back to be hooked up to the monitors the doctor showed up and checked me herself. I was 5-6 and plus 1 and 100 percent. I was like wow really? I thought once you got that far you would be in horrible pain. I guess not. She said she could break my water but they did that with my son and I was not about to let her do that without first getting my wimp shot epidural lol. So I got my epi about 12 and during the entire thing I was not uncomfortable from contractions... I was joking around and the epi girl was like are you really in labor?? They broke my water right after the epi took effect and 2 hours later and one push later my precious tiny 37 week baby girl was born and I am in love... good luck to those of you still waiting and those who have come before me keep on loving the babies and get some rest!
