Washing out the poop?

Okay, so my ds is 8 mo. and I've never washed out his poop from his cloth diapers. The washing machine seemed to do an OK job and it was such a small amount and liquidy and seemed like it would be more trouble to try to wash it out than just to throw it in the wash machine. His diapers are still coming out of the wash just fine....

BUT, times are changing, and we're beginning solid foods, and his poop is a lot more than it was, a lot stinkier and thicker. Is there a point when I should start doing something else with his poop besides throw it in the washer? Will I just know when that time comes? Is it obvious? If not, how do I know when to transition and what to do?

I've seen those toilet sprayers they sell, but it seems like a gross stinky mess of a thing to have in the house.

So: What do I do with my ds's poop and how do I know when to do it?

Thanks!

IS his poop thick enough to shake off? Is it solid vs. runny liquid? When my dd's poops started to look...well...like mine...that is when I began tossing it in the toilet. Good luck!
