Okay, so I've stopped all solids, not that she was getting a whole lot, but she has not reacted well, so we'll try again next month or so. She's only 6.5 months old right now.

My question is, although I understand that constipation is a common reaction in babies when they get solids too early, or the wrong solids too early, what about diaper rash? I assume it'll go away now that I've gone back to BM only (and I'm using calendula on her) - but could that indicate she's allergic to one or more of the foods she got? She's tried carrots, banana, apple (chunks in one of those net things)....I think that's it. Oh, she had a tiny bit of smushed tofu, but that was one day more than a week ago now. The banana, too - that was one day, and very little (she didn't like it). I guess the thing she's had the most of is carrots, and I've since read that carrots aren't necessarily the best "first" food, because they're starchy and hard to digest for babies. How could someone be allergic to carrots? Or is the diaper rash just there because of her constipation - a lot of times when I go to change her diaper, she has a tiny bit of poop in there, just a small stain, really. I guess that could be causing the rash - I plan to check/change her diaper a lot more often today and keep the calendula on her, see if that helps. This baby has never had a diaper rash before, and it's been 4 years since my last baby, so I'm out of practice with this stuff!!

Thanks for any opinions.
