I was thinking if we could get full stats on all the September babies it would be fun to put together some statistics at the group level. For instance, average weight, height, length of gestation, number of boys/girls etc.
I just love number and I would have fun doing it.
Just a thought for updating the missing info...

lol... part of why im trying to keep as much info from each as I can (I know a couple didnt give us full info... but hoping over time I can update)

Im amazed at how many we already have had by the 4th day of our month!

Our little girl was born last night 9/5 at 7:02pm. She weighed 6lbs. 7oz and is 19 1/2 in. My due date was 9/13. I suppose that would be 38 wks 6 days.

Thanks for doing this thread, Mae.

Would anyone be interested in the numbers of augmented births, c-sections, and natural births, as well as labor lengths? I just thought the average of those things might be interesting. We're all pretty well on the same page natural birthwise, so I wonder if our results would be different from a slice of the regular population?

DS was born at 8:04am in the morning. I think J1M's suggestion is cool; I would be interested to see the results although I'm not volunteering to compile them. :nana

My birth was pretty "natural". I did have sterile water injections in my back during transition (didn't really do anything for the discomfort but the pain of the injections were a nice distraction) and pitocin right after the baby was born.

As for length of labor, I'm not really sure. I started having contractions about 2 1/2 days before he was born, but I could sleep through them at night and they eventually petered out to just a couple an hour. Even after my water broke 4 1/2 hours before he was born I wasn't even sure I was in labor because contractions were so irregular. Only after most of my contractions got really, really intense and all were 7/8 minutes or closer was I sure (about 3 hours before he was born). But I was certainly in labor before then, just don't know when to say it started.

Maybe we could set up a few polls (I'd be happy to) so that people could do all the "data entry" on their own? We could ask in the first post that only people from the Sept ddc reply. Maybe make them a sticky...or at least a post with the links to the polls a sticky to make them easy to find.

As far as how to judge when labor started, I don't know either. We need some sort of standard if we're going to have any chance at a reasonable statistic, though.

I consider labor started with DD as when I first realized I might actually be in labor.

With DS it was as soon as they shot the pitocin into my iv.

Ill be happy to add the links to the bottom of this list, as people looking at it are most likely going to be interested in that info.

If you do it as polls, make sure to make it so we can see who answered what! Id love getting to compare things like so-and-so and so-and-so both had babies the same day, how long were their labors comparatively?

I wanted to announce the arrival of Draike Alan born on 9/7/2010 at 2:31 pm. 7lbs 7 ozs, 20 inches...original due date was 9/11/2010.

hi there!

I'm not sure if I screwed up my original announcement, but I wanted to add/edit my info.

My little guy Aidan Matthew was born 9/2 (instead of 9/3), at 8:14 PM. He weighed 9 lb 10 oz, and was born at 40 w 4d.

Thanks for putting this thread up, I love reading the names, weights, and gestations - what a fun idea! I hope it doesn't seem picky that I am giving you more info to add...

Not picky, I prefer to have all the info and have it be correct so thank you!

Will update it when I put in the new babies later this evening (after a MUCH needed nap!)
