Can we talk about ketosis pilaris?

You know, the white bumps on the back of your arms, maybe on the backs of your thighs too.

I've had them for as long as I can remember, at first minor, now lots. I've been a vegan, vegetarian, cut out gluten, been an omnivore, rubbed coconut oil on them, pounded the beta-carotene, then the vit A, ate organic, grass-fed steak for a week . . . after 20 years . .

Nothing affects them!!!

Now, the mainstream med view is that it is a harmless sin thing, a build up of keratin at the follice. And that it is hereditary. DH has it too. and guess what? All 3 of our kids do. And lately at the park or beach, I notice it on loads of little kids arms. What is going on?? I' sure I didn't have it as a kid, nor did I ever notice it on any of my friends.

Have you had it and cleared it up permenently??? I've removed various things from my kids' diets over the years, to their dismay, trying to get it to go away. but nothing works, and I don't want food to be a big issue for them, so I let it go. I know nothing I ever removed made it change for me.

But I see them all up my dear 3 year olds arms and just think I'm missing something, that if I could just find the cause I could fix it, be a 'good' mother, that I could heal them. It looks so wrong on my kids, and mine and dh's are getting worse, spreading.

help!!!!

Yep, we all have it too.

I remember it right from when I was maybe 12-13 on my upper thighs. DH reckons he's had his forever - thighs and upper arms.

DS has it on his cheeks and upper arms and DD has only a little amount.

No idea really.

Have tried rubbing coconut oil into it, CLO, kids are gluten free anyway, we are meat eaters. The only time I noticed DS's go away was when he was on high-dose steroids for a kidney condition 18mths ago, then as the dose was reduced it returned.

SO & his sister have it. They get rid of it with baby oil, used right after a bath or shower.

I had it on my arms and thighs. I did everything you did (I did not have this as a child) and it still wouldn't go away...no matter what.

I found a lymphatic masseuse who I would see a couple times a month and along with the massages, she gave me all kinds of lymphatic stimulation tips and now my skin is not only glowing again, I have no bumps or anything like that.

Hope it helps you!

While some feel it's a normal, harmless thing, I see our skin as a living organ and there is a reason we're all getting this. Hence my post to find a solution, not acceptance.

Angela, tell me more!!!!!! I can see how lymphatic work would affect it, and am interested in pursuing lymphatic support in my life right now anyway. Can you tell me what tips she gave you and what you did? dry brushing??
